More about Joy

Joy’s methods have gained attention because people get such natural and professional results. She focuses on helping people develop the tools and techniques to find their ideal sound, the most desirable dialects, the perfect character qualities for their voice.
Many people seek a Voice and Dialect Coach because they’ve been told there’s something “wrong” with the way they speak—something to correct or “fix.” They come expecting to be told how to correct their mistakes, focusing on what they don’t want, and too often, that’s how many dialect courses are taught.
Joy realizes that we learn far more organically and confidently if we focus on the qualities we do want, on the qualities that work for us – the “keys”. Her techniques focus on the important skills that help us build confidence, authenticity and authority as a speaker.
"If we explore using the breath more effectively, finding the musicality, the rhythm and the pacing that work best, we are able to embody any dialect, any character, any voice, in a lasting and confident way. Simply said: It’s about so much more than how you say the words!" - Joy
